The No. 5 Florida Gators lacrosse team is on the road taking on No. 18 James Madison on Saturday. The first draw is set for 11 a.m. at the American Legion Memorial Stadium in Charlotte, N.C.
James Madison remains in the AAC conference, while UF is now in the BIG 12 conference after competing in the AAC for five seasons.
This season, the Gators (3-1) have defeated No. 11 Johns Hopkins, Kennesaw State and South Florida. Florida’s only loss has been to No. 3 North Florida.
James Madison (3-1) lost its first game of the season to North Carolina, but have a three-game win streak after defeating Virginia Tech, UConn and Richmond, 14-10.
Florida’s Recent Success
Florida defeated USF 18-1 on Tuesday leading to four Gators earning Big 12 Player of the Week honors. Celeste Forte earned defender of the week, Clark Hamilton received freshman of the week, Georgia Hoey won goalkeeper of the week, and Gianna Monaco was awarded attacker of the week.
Monaco leads the Gators with 13 goals, Frannie Hahn leads with eight assists, Hoey leads with 15 ground balls and 26 saves and Theresa Bragg’s leads with 10 caused turnovers.
