Will Caleb Williams stay hot, tussle in Husky Stadium

Saturday has a top 10 matchup between No. 8 Oregon and No. 7 Washington in the tussle in Husky stadium with playoff hopes on the line.

The Ducks are led by quarterback Bo Nix. They have rolled through the beginning of the season. The Ducks scored over 40 points in four of their five games with last week’s game. They have even reached 81 points in Week 1.

Another big game rounding out the weekend features No. 10 USC Trojans traveling to South Bend to take on No. 21 Notre Dame Fighting Irish. It’s the 94th time these two teams have met on the field with Notre Dame leading the all-time series 48-37-5.

The No. 25 ranked Miami Hurricanes will be taking on the No. 12 North Carolina Tar Heels. The Tar Heels have had Miami’s number the last four years since Mack Brown took over the head coaching job.

Oregon Ducks vs. Washington Huskies

The Oregon Ducks (5-0) are heading to Husky Stadium in Seattle, Washington, to play the Washington Huskies (5-0) at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.

Oregon is coming off a 42-6 thumping of Stanford where they had 506 total yards and held Stanford to 222 total yards. The Huskies are coming off a win against Arizona where Huskies’ quarterback Michael Penix Jr. went 30-40 for 363 yards.

Bo Nix has looked strong through the first five games of the season throwing 15 touchdowns and only one interception. Although Nix has looked strong up to this point in the season there hasn’t been a real threat to him and the Ducks but that will change Saturday.

Both teams are the top two offenses in the country entering this game. Expect Husky Stadium to be rocking on Saturday afternoon.

USC Trojans vs. Notre Dame

The USC Trojans (6-0) will be traveling to South Bend to take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (5-2).

Notre Dame had a rough go of it last week in a loss to Louisville and first year head coach Jeff Brohm. They are looking to rebound in a big way against an opponent they know very well. Fighting Irish QB Sam Hartman has helped open up the offense and push the ball down the field. The Irish have lost two of their last three games and have a really slim chance to make the College Football Playoffs.

USC quarterback Caleb Williams is one the Heisman favorites again after winning it last season and is predicted to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft. All eyes will be on Williams and the Trojans offense against the Fighting Irish’s stout defense.

Even though the Trojans are undefeated and ranked in the top 10 they have looked beatable. The Trojans were exploited defensively the last two weeks, beating Colorado by seven and Arizona in triple overtime by two points.

The USC offense and the Notre Dame defense will be the highlight in this matchup.

Miami Hurricanes vs. North Carolina Tar Heels

The No. 25 Miami Hurricanes (4-1) are taking on the No. 12 North Carolina Tar Heels, Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET.

The Hurricanes are coming off a heartbreaking loss to Georgia Tech where they a chance to run out the clock by kneeling the football but instead elected to run the football which resulted in running back Henry Parrish Jr. fumbling the ball and Georgia Tech recovering. Miami head coach Mario Cristobal was hammered all week about his decision to run the football and has taken full responsibility for the loss.

The Tar Heels are off to their best start since winning the first eight games in 1997, which was the final season of Brown’s first tenure before taking the head coaching job at Texas. In his second stint with the Tar Heels he hasn’t lost to the Hurricanes. Quarterback Drake Maye has looked phenomenal this season and looks to continue his dominance against the Hurricanes this weekend.
