Gators Volleyball Team Sweeps Crimson Tide

Florida beat Alabama 3-0 at home Sunday, making it the 23rd consecutive sweep against the Crimson Tide (52-0 all time).

Ninth-ranked Florida moves to 12-3 on the season and 4-2 in SEC play after the 25-22, 29-27, 25-19 win. Bama drops to 10-6 and 0-5.

Heavy Hitters

Florida dominated the offensive side of the net, swinging .357 on the match with 41 kills on just six errors.

Senior outside hitter AC Fitzpatrick led the way, racking up 14 kills.

Kennedy Martin added 11 kills along with Anna Dixon collecting 9 kills.

Ace, Ace, In Your Face

The Gators also had eight service aces to Alabama’s one, proving the difference in the set two nail-bitter, 29-27.

Holding Down the Defense

The Gators overpowered Alabama on the defensive side as well, stuffing the Tide 10 times.

Sofia Victoria (tied her career-high) and Gabrielle Essix each had four blocks, with Nnedi Okammor adding three.
