NL Pennant Race starting to wind down

As the MLB season is coming to a close and the post-season getting ready to start up, who’s in the race to get a pennant in the National League and who isn’t?

When talking about the National League pennant race, it’s  hard not to bring up the Atlanta Braves, who have reached 100 wins in a season for the second season in a row. Especially since the Braves just won the NL East division for the sixth time in a row.

Dodging Trouble

Following close behind the Braves are the Los Angeles Dodgers, who are sitting at a 96-59 record. The Dodgers won the NL West Division and have also been setting Major League Baseball records.

Sitting directly behind the Braves in the NL East standings are last seasons World Series runner-ups, the Philadelphia Phillies. After falling to the Astros last season in the World Series, the Phillies are looking to prove themselves once more. The Phillies are sitting at an 8-2 record for their last 10 games and are going to want to capitalize on that come post-season time.

Brewing Conversation

The Milwaukee Brewers have also been sparking conversation, as they have clinched the NL Central. They currently have the third best record in the National League and have won six out of their last four games.

Pennant Race

Although the regular season is coming to an end, it feels as though the season is just beginning. Many teams are getting ready to prove their worth in the post-season as the pennant race is beginning to wind down. Many teams in the National League have shown what they’re made of and that they’re ready for the post-season, but the teams in the American League have shown the same thing. Will the Astros be able to pull off back-to-back World Series wins, or will another team rise to the challenge?
