The Jaguars (1-1) are preparing to host the Texans (0-2) heading into week three, as both teams are looking to bounce back from tough losses.
The Texans lost to their AFC South division rival Colts 31-20, while the Jaguars lost a close game to the Chiefs, 17-9.

Offenses Looking to Improve
The Texans’ offense, led by rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud, has not had any success the first two weeks of the season. The Texans have only scored 29 points, which is ranked 29th in the league. Meanwhile, the Jaguars scored just nine points against Steve Spagnuolo and his Kansas City Chiefs defense.
“One bad game doesn’t define us,” Jacksonville star receiver Christian Kirk stated.
Jacksonville head coach Doug Pederson also knows that his offense can be dynamic, led by Trevor Lawerence. However, the Jags’ O-line has to do better protecting up front, as well as the Texans.
C.J. Stroud was sacked six times, injuring his throwing shoulder, and lost one of his two fumbles against the Colts’ defense.
“It’s all about the protection,” Texans head coach DeMeco Ryan said.
Overall, Stroud has been sacked 11 times in his rookie career so far. This is an NFL high, but the Texans rookie quarterback has had to play with an porus O-line.

Jaguars’ Feisty Defense
This Jaguars defense looked impressive in week two against Patrick Mahomes and his Chiefs offense. Jacksonville held Kansas City to just 17 points and created three early turnovers in the game. It looks like the Jacksonville defense is heading in the right direction under defensive coordinator Mike Cadwell.
“We’re doing what we need to do to win every game,” Jaguars star linebacker Josh Allen said.
Jacksonville is looking to continue showing its fierceness against a struggling Texans offense.
