Before moving to the states, Condon previously played at Australia’s Centre for Excellence for the NBA Global Academy. There, he was able to develop as a player, gain more exposure and be noticed by Florida coaches.

Promising Future Ahead

The 6-foot-11 native of Perth, Australia, arrived in Gainesville at the start of the Summer A term. Since then, he’s been training with the team and preparing for his first year with Florida basketball. Condon’s physicality, athleticism and ability to run the floor has made him stand out during summer training.

Coming from a past playing football, Condon sees his conditioning as one of the strengths that he brings to the team.

So far this summer, some things he’s been working on with the coaching staff is his touch and footwork, he said. He also has been getting used to the new style of ball played in the United States.

“I’ve been working with Coach Talley on my jump shot and I’ve been pretty happy with how I’m shooting it recently,” he said.

Condon looks forward to the year ahead. Additionally, he said playing in the United States for the Gators was a dream come true. He spoke about that and his expectations for the year to come.

He accredits his development to his coaches over the past year and was ecstatic to receive an offer to play for Todd Golden and the Gators.

“Getting an offer from Florida was a big deal to me,” he said. “It was a no brainer accepting it.”
