Rays shut out Reds 10-0 on the road

The Tampa Bay Rays (15-3) defeated the Cincinnati Reds (7-10) 10-0 Tuesday night after losing to them 8-1 on Monday.

Over the Walls

Taylor Walls had himself a night on Tuesday. He went 4/5 at bat with 2 homers, a triple, a single and 4 RBI’s.

Walls showed off his ability to bat from both sides of the plate, as his first home run came from his right side while the second came from the left. He put was the first to put the Rays on the board, driving the momentum for the remainder of the game. Since Walls’ MLB debut in 2021, this is the first time he had multiple homeruns in a game, marking a milestone in his career.

The Rays were red hot as Yandy Diaz and Randy Arozarena also went yard on the night. Brandon Lowe, who did not play in Tuesday’s game, and Wander Franco, who went 1/3, have also been offensive powerhouses for the Rays this season. Tampa Bay has been dominant on the offensive front all season as they lead the league with 41 home runs. The Los Angeles Dodgers trail them with 32.

Tampa Bay out hit Cincinnati 17-4 on the night. Despite putting up eight runs and holding the Rays to one on Monday, the Reds struggled to get their offense going as a result of Taj Bradley.

Bradley Brings the Heat

Taj Bradley, 22, made his MLB debut on April 12 against the Boston Red Sox, and Tuesday night was his second appearance. In these two games, Bradley has 17 strikeouts and only two walks. He had eight strikeouts in his debut and topped this in his second game with nine strikeouts in 5.1 innings.

Rays Standing

The Rays have the best record in the league, followed by the Atlanta Braves who are one game behind with a 14-4 record. In the American League, the Texas Rangers (11-6, 3.5 GB) stand at No. 2. And in the AL East, the Toronto Blue Jays (11-7, 4GB) are second to the Rays.

Tampa Bay has gone 10-0 at home, while they are 5-3 on the road. They are looking to improve their road record to 6-3 and take the series today, as it is currently knotted up at 1-1.
