Senior Jarrad Davis knows the threat that Tennessee quarterback Josh Dobbs and the Volunteers pose for he and the Gators this weekend, but that’s exactly why he’s excited to make the trip to Knoxville.
The 6’2” 238-pound linebacker is very aware of how crucial this game is for both of these SEC East teams. Tennessee and Florida are both going into Saturday’s game unbeaten with a lot on the line.
Florida does have to deal with the loss of starting quarterback Luke Del Rio, who has been ruled out for Saturday’s game. Del Rio suffered a leg injury in last weekend’s game against North Texas, and now fifth-year senior Austin Appleby will be taking over the position for their game against the Vols. Davis says Del Rio’s injury is obviously an unfortunate circumstance, but the team is confident in Appleby’s ability to bring home a victory.
Last weekend also brought some sideline drama that began with Coach McElwain’s obvious frustration at North Texas Coach Seth Littrell after Del Rio’s injury. Davis explained that McElwain’s “frustration” just shows how passionate he is about his football team.

Davis says that his team is a different team than they have been in previous years, in that they are more disciplined and comfortable with the team they have become. According to Davis, the only team that can beat the Gators is the Gators themselves. Needless to say, he’s feeling confident about facing the Volunteers this Saturday.
The Gators have won 11 straight games against the Vols, which is the longest winning streak either team has had in the all-time series. Saturday’s game will take place at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, Tennessee. Tune in to CBS to catch the opening kickoff, which is set for 3:30 p.m.
