Tyreek Hill Announces Plans to Retire Following 2025 Season

Dolphins’ wide receiver Tyreek Hill announced today his plans to retire following the 2025 NFL season and enter the gaming space. Hill is 29 and will be 31 in 2025, when he plans to hang it up.

 “I’m gonna finish out this contract with the Dolphins and then I’m gonna call it quits. I want to go into the business side. I want to do so many things in my life, bro.”

His Career Thus Far

After being drafted in 2016 by the Kansas City Chiefs out of West Alabama, Hill has been one of the premiere receivers and deep threats in the entire NFL. Amassing 6,630 yards and 56 touchdowns in six years with the Chiefs, he started fast. Joining the Dolphins prior to 2022 via a blockbuster trade, he compiled 119 receptions for 1,710 yards and 7 touchdowns.

He signed a four-year, $120 million extension with Miami following his trade from Kansas City.

Tyreek has been open about his excitement for the Dolphins matchup with the Chiefs in 2023. He said he’ll be Kansas City’s “Worst enemy.” There is no official date set for when the two teams will face off.

Why Retire?

It’s simple to Tyreek: he wants to do more with his life. He wants to join the business aspect of things and especially get into the gaming business. He announced he is creating a gaming team, which is expected to launch by the end of this month. His plan is to sign different content creators and athletes to be a part of it.

“So I really want to get into like the gaming space. I really want to get huge in that and that’s kind of what I’m doing right now.”

He wants to reach 10 seasons and the end of his contract before he calls it quits. He’s won a Superbowl, got a major extension and now is looking to explore something else.
