2023 SEC Baseball Rankings Heat Up

While No. 3 Florida will take on Tennessee next in the SEC, the conference continues to heat up. After a few weekends of SEC play, it’s becoming clear which teams are the best in the conference so far.

LSU Tigers

The LSU Tigers are currently sitting at the top of the rankings. After their most recent big series win against Tennessee, they continue to cement their No. 1 spot in all rankings. LSU shut down the Tennessee Volunteers in their first two games before they dropped the final game.

Arkansas Razorbacks

Despite the Razorbacks falling during their first game against Alabama, they remained victorious after winning the following two games. After a performance like that, the Razorbacks have demonstrated they can show out during close games.

South Carolina Gamecocks

Another team demonstrating top performance during close games are the South Carolina Gamecocks. After their first SEC loss of the season, the Gamecocks picked up and responded with a 14-5 win to finalize the series.

Kentucky Wildcats

The Wildcats started their conference play 8-1, the best start in program history. They’re not slowing down either. Kentucky scooped up another series win against Missouri, winning the first two games, each by 10 runs. Kentucky have now won 22 of their last 23 games.

Tennessee Volunteers

The Volunteers challenged No. 1 LSU in a thrilling series. Although they lost games one and two, they came back with a strong 14-7 win. The Volunteers have been showing out against top teams, not showing any signs of backing down.

Alabama Crimson Tide

Alabama haven’t won a series yet, but within each series, they’ve managed to win at least one game. Despite their 3-6 conference record, this team has been one to watch out for.
