The No. 19 Florida Gators women’s tennis team (9-4) bounced back from a tough loss and defeated No. 3 Michigan (11-3) 4-1 Wednesday afternoon. The victory was the program’s first top three win since a 4-1 victory over No.2 Ohio State in 2017.

Dominance in Doubles
The Gators came ready to play and looked like a top-ranked team themselves against a very strong Wolverines team. On court one, Alicia Dudeney and Bente Spee didn’t back down against the No. 2 ranked doubles pair in the country. The pair converted an early break point followed by a second break at 4-2 and held serve to close out the set at 6-2.

After falling on court two, the Gators would need a win on court three to clinch the doubles point. The pair of Emily De Olivera and Sophie Williams won four consecutive games after starting the match 2-2. They remain undefeated together as a doubles tandem.
