Florida Volleyball Sweeps FAMU and Jacksonville

The Florida Gator Volleyball made a clean sweep with Friday’s matches against Florida A&M and Jacksonville. The Gators played in the Lemerand Athletic Center which made it a bit difficult for this players to play due to such a low ceiling.

In Florida’s first match against FAMU senior right side Alex Holston slammed down a team-best 12 kills and posted 14 points. As well as six gators hit above .400 in the match against the Rattlers, including freshman middle Rachael Kramer, who had a .500 efficiency with eight kills and three blocks. While middle blocker Darrielle King led the Gators with  four blocks.

Florida hit .402 against FAMU making it their third best efficiency of the season making it a clean sweep for the Gators (25-13, 25-19, 25-16).

During the second game against Jacksonville, Kramer made it another amazing game for her. She paced the Gators with a .556 clip and zero errors. Since Wednesday night’s game Kramer has hit a team best .559 with 21 kills, just two errors and a team high 14 total blocks.

As for junior libero Caroline Knop she continued to be a stabilizer for the Gators having 13 digs making it her second most in a three-setter game in 2016 and Head Coach Mary Wise thought it was one of Knop’s best matches.

Although the team struggled in the second half of the game, Carli Synder still thought they had a good performance but still need some improvement.

Florida defeated Jacksonville 25-12, 25-18, 25-20 making it two clean sweeps for the Gators yesterday.

Wise had a few words to say on how Jacksonville came out strong.
