One game remains on the SEC women’s basketball regular-season schedule, and the SEC tournament is set to begin on March 1st. Nationally ranked No. 1 South Carolina and No. 5 LSU are clear to go dancing this year, but how does the rest of the SEC look? The conference tournament is the last hope for some to join the dance in mid March.

SEC Bracketology
Besides the two powerhouse in South Carolina and LSU, other SEC teams are sitting on the bubble. In the AP Top 25 for week 16, Tennessee received seven votes into rankings. This places fifth among teams that did not make it on the list. The Vols are 20-10 overall, and they sit third in the SEC with a 12-3 conference record.
According to Charlie Creme, ESPN bracketologist and analyst, Tennessee is slated to be a five seed in the tournament this year. Tennessee, however, is not the only other SEC team predicted to make the tournament. As of Friday morning, Creme’s bracketology has seven SEC teams going dancing.
But which teams?
Ole Miss is predicted to be a seven seed, Alabama is predicted as an eight seed, and both Georgia and Mississippi State are projected to be nine seeds.

Conference Tournament Preview
South Carolina is undefeated at 28-0 with one game left on the regular season schedule. LSU has only dropped one game at 26-1. While they may be predicted to be in, nothing is guaranteed, so Tennessee, Ole Miss, Miss St., Bama and Georgia all would be wise to be on their A-games in the conference tournament.
Creme’s bracketology leaves seven SEC teams looking for an SEC championship as a ticket to the big dance.
Arkansas is listed as a first four out team. A critical position, they can be sure to try and make some noise in the conference tournament.
On the other hand, Missouri, Auburn, Florida, Vanderbilt, Texas A&M and Kentucky all have a tall task ahead of them. Missouri had the best conference record out of those squads… at 6-9. Drastic changes will have to be made going into this final game of the season and ahead of the tournament if they hope to have a shot at the title this year.
