The women’s team will look to capture its first conference title since 2014, while the men’s team look for its first title since 2019 and its fourth since 2010. Last season, both Gator teams finished runner-up to Arkansas. The Razorbacks enter this year’s conference championships as the nation’s top-ranked men’s team and the No. 2 women’s team.
Nine SEC men’s teams — in addition to Florida and Arkansas — enter the indoor championships ranked inside the country’s top-25. This includes four top-15 teams: No. 4 Tennessee, No. 10 Georgia, No. 12 Alabama and No. 14 Kentucky.
Seven SEC women’s teams are ranked following No. 2 Arkansas and No. 3 Florida — who swapped places from the previous week’s national rating index. This includes six other top-15 squads: No. 6 Alabama, No. 8 LSU, No. 10 Tennessee, No. 11 Texas A&M, No. 13 Georgia and No. 15 Ole Miss.
Friday
The first day of the event will not only include the women’s pentathlon final, but it will also feature the finals for the men’s and women’s 5,000-meter, long jump and distance medley relay.
Florida redshirt senior Cavan Wilson will race in the men’s 5,000-meter final before redshirt sophomores Jordan Shapiro and Parker Valby race in the women’s 5,000-meter final. Four Gators will compete in the men’s long-jump final before junior Claire Bryant and senior Jasmine Moore represent Florida in the women’s long-jump final.
The last event of day one — the distance medley relay — will feature seven Gator men at 9 p.m. and four Gator women at 9:15 p.m.
Friday’s slate also includes the prelims for Saturday’s finals.
Saturday
Florida redshirt senior Corvell Todd will kick off Saturday’s field events at 3:15 p.m. as he competes in the men’s high-jump final. Bryant will simultaneously represent Florida in the women’s high-jump final.
Gator freshman Logan Montgomery will compete in the men’s shot-put final before Danish senior Thea Jensen and Dutch freshman Alida Van Daalen take on the women’s shot-put final. Montgomery and Van Daalen will each look to build off their record-setting performances at the Florida University Last Chance Meet.
