The Georgia Bulldogs return to Atlanta for the SEC Championship on Saturday. However, the Bulldogs won’t be facing the Alabama Crimson Tide. Instead, they clash with the LSU Tigers with kickoff set for 4 p.m.
The Stakes
Georgia’s undefeated regular season is likely enough to put them into the College Football Playoff, even if they fall to the Tigers. Though, if they don’t bring their A-game on Saturday, the CFP committee will have a difficult decision to make. With Alabama and Ohio State knocking on the door, Georgia needs the win to remain the top seed. For LSU, they have a chance to play in a New Years Six bowl game. Even though knocking off the top seed in the country is an accomplishment on its own, the Tigers’ playoff chances were ruined after losing to Texas A&M on Saturday.
How Georgia Will Win
Georgia has clearly been the best college football team this season. Not only are they undefeated, but they have convincing wins over some of the best teams in the nation and have been the most consistent team. A big part of their success this season is due to their defensive play, with their defense ranking fourth in the nation. They have also relied on quarterback Stetson Bennett’s leadership. Although Bennett’s statistics don’t pop out to the average college football fan, his game management is felt and needed on the team. After their championship run last season, Georgia will continue to rely on Bennett’s decision making along with their defense to remain undefeated this weekend.

How LSU Will Win
Although LSU has three losses on the season, they have multiple convincing victories including wins against Ole Miss and Alabama. Much of their success comes from their quarterback Jayden Daniels. It is no surprise that in LSU’s big wins, Daniels has recorded an impressive performance. In back-to-back games against Florida and Ole Miss, Daniels had three rushing touchdowns in each game. This would obviously lead one to believe that the better Daniels plays, the better chance LSU has to win.
