Bills Shut Out Titans On MNF

On Monday Night Football, the Buffalo Bills made a statement in their 41-7 victory over the Tennessee Titans. The Bills moved to 2-0 while simultaneously strengthening their case as the conference’s top team.

Both teams scored touchdowns to open the game, but the Bills took over after that. They scored 10 unanswered points in the second quarter to take a 17-7 halftime lead. In the third quarter, the Bills scored 24 unanswered points, sealing the game. Of those points, 17 were the result of three forced turnovers that included Matt Milano’s 43-yard pick-six off of Ryan Tannehill.

Bills Show No Mercy

The Bills were clearly the dominant team, with Josh Allen completing 26 of 38 passes for 317 yards and four touchdowns. Additionally, Stefon Diggs was the standout player, completing 12 passes for 148 yards and three touchdowns.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Bills allowed just 182 total Titans yards compared to the Bills’ 414. Additionally, Buffalo won the battle for turnovers 4-0.

Buffalo is 2-0 for the third time in the last four seasons, and it was the team’s first home win on Monday Night Football since 1994.

Tennessee Falls Short

The Titans’ No. 1 cornerback Kristian Fulton was ruled out on Saturday due to a hamstring injury, and without him, this team was very young and inexperienced on Monday.

Tannehill completed 11 of 20 passes for 117 yards and two interceptions and Derrick Henry rushed for just 25 yards and one touchdown on 13 carries. After Tannehill’s second interception, Coach Vrabel replaced him with Malik Willis, making him the first rookie to play at QB this season.

Henry had his worst performance on Monday after a recorded minus 2.6 rush yards over expectation per carry. After averaging 3.9 yards per carry in Week 1, Henry averaged 2.0 yards per carry against the Bills, his fourth-lowest average in a game in which he had at least 10 carries.
