Judge is History in the Making

The New York Yankees are currently at the top of the AL East and a significant factor in their success is slugger Aaron Judge. Judge is on the quest to make history as he is just two home runs shy of Roger Maris’ Yankee and American League record of 61 home runs in a season.

Judge’s Stats

Meanwhile, Judge’s unbelievable splits for the month of September through the 19th are .491 for his batting average, .586 on-base percentages and 1.018 slugging percentage. Despite Judge’s outstanding individual performance, especially Sunday night’s win against the Milwaukee Brewers, which resulted in a 12-8 win. Judge had three runs, two home runs and an on-base percentage of .419. In the post-game press conference, he was asked about his thoughts on how his efforts helped lead the Yankees. “I focus on doing what I can to be a good teammate, help the team win,” Judge said. “If that means hitting a homer, then it means hitting a homer, but it’s never been my focus, never been my main objective,” said Judge.

Team Mentality

Judge is receiving an immense amount of media exposure and he is persistent in tuning out distractions and focusing on the game. “I try to stay off all that stuff as much as I can because it’s really no good. You have a bad game, they’re gonna say some things. You have a good game, they’re gonna say some things. So I try to stay off it throughout the year and just focus on what I gotta do here and focus on helping this team and listen to the opinions from my teammates and coaches. Those are the ones that matter to me,” stated Judge.

Judge is chasing baseball history and there is a possibility that he catch it soon. The Yankees’ will be taking on the Pittsburgh Pirates in a two-game series starting Tuesday.
