On Saturday, the No. 1 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide will roll into Austin, Texas, to take on the Longhorns. Both teams enter the weekend following commanding week one wins. Alabama defeated Utah State in a shutout 55-0, while Texas also looked strong with a 52-10 win over LA-Monroe. This week, both teams have been preparing for what will undoubtedly be a much tougher matchup for both sides as unranked Texas looks to make a statement at home. Alabama head coach Nick Saban joined the SEC Teleconference this week to talk about their upcoming matchup.

Challenge for Alabama
The Crimson Tide are the favorites heading into Saturday, but Saban is well aware they cannot overlook the Longhorns. Texas is 7-1-1 all time against Alabama, with Bama’s one win coming in the 2010 BCS National Championship. Saban acknowledged that Texas is a good team and he said he knows that it will be tough for his guys to play on the road for the first time this season.
The Longhorns’ veteran leadership and experience will be a test for the Tide. Saban stated that his team must execute to their ability in order to come out of Austin with a win.
Texas Looking Threatening
Despite their dominant week one win, the Longhorns remain unranked going into their matchup with Alabama. Texas received 118 votes from the AP poll and are ready to show why leaving them off the list was a mistake. Saban talked about how Alabama has to attack Texas and what they can expect to see on the field Saturday.
In week one, Texas was a force on the ground and in the air, but facing the Tide is never an easy assignment. Through one game, Alabama is ranked 16th in total offense and 10th in total defense.
These teams go head-to-head for the first time in twelve years as Texas looks to pull off a shocker at home.
