This weekend, UConn and Stanford will appear in the NCAA Super Regionals and play against each other. Both teams punched their tickets to the 16-team Super Regionals on Monday.
There will be four matchups beginning on Friday and four on Saturday. UConn and Stanford play on Saturday.

UConn
For the UConn Huskies, this is their first super regional since 2011. UConn enters this series with a 49-14 record.
The Huskies also set a program record for wins in a season with its 49th victory on Monday night. In their three-game series against Maryland, UConn won two out of three those games.
The Huskies started the College Park Regional off by defeating Wake Forest 8-7. UConn then went on to beat Maryland 10-5 but lost on Sunday 7-6. In their final game against the Terps catcher, Matt Donlan had a six-run first inning with a grand slam. The Huskies beat the Terps, 11-8 to win the College Park Regional.

Stanford
On Monday evening the Stanford Cardinal punched the 16th and final ticket to the NCAA Super Regionals. The Cardinal had an exciting win over Texas State.
Stanford joins the Super Regional with 20 wins in the last 21 games and a record of 45-15.
In their first game against Texas State, the Cardinal was defeated 5-2. However, Stanford came back to beat Texas State 8-4 on Sunday and 4-3 on Monday, securing their spot in the Super Regionals.
In the top of the ninth inning, Texas State broke the 1-1 tie and took a lead of 3-1. Stanford then responded with back-to-back home runs to tie the game. Later on, Trevor Haskins won the game for the Cardinal after hitting the walk-off single.
What’s Next?
Stanford will now host the UConn Huskies in a best-of-three series this weekend. The winner will advance to the College World Series in Omaha.
