After an 18-13 loss to Clemson in the ACC Championship game, FSU baseball looks to have a short memory as they turn their sights to upcoming regional play in Tallahassee.
After Clemson took an 18-1 lead in the fourth inning, Florida State scored 12 runs in an attempt to claw their way back into the game. The Seminoles will look to show the same grittiness that they displayed in the ACC Championship in their upcoming regional play against Alabama State in the NCAA Tournament.

Despite the loss, Coach Mike Martin was pleased with the resiliency his team showed after facing such a lofty deficit.
Florida State finished the regular season with a 37-20 record, going 16-10 in ACC play. Inconsistent play on the road was the story of the season for the Seminoles. With a home record of 27-9, FSU finished an abysmal 7-9 on the road.
This inconsistent road play could prove costly if both the Seminoles and the No. 1 overall seed Florida Gators advance to the Super Regionals. The Seminoles would have to travel to Gainesville for a three-game series. In their last four games against the Gators, FSU has only been able to squeak out one win. That sole win came in Tallahassee on April 14 of last year.
Florida State will look to their young talent to carry them throughout the tournament. Freshmen like outfielder Jackson Lueck and pitcher Tyler Holton will need to continue their phenomenal play if the Seminoles want to go deep into the tournament. Although Holton recorded his first weekend start of the season just two weeks ago, his dominance over the Hurricanes helped Holton solidify his spot in the weekend rotation. Holton struck out 17 Miami batters in 13 combined innings.
The Seminoles will square off against Alabama State in their first game of regional play this upcoming Friday, June 3, at 6 p.m.
