No. 14 Arkansas Secures a Close Win

LSU faced a tough loss last night as they could not defeat Arkansas in a close game resulting in the final score being 77-76. Arkansas secured the win through JD Notae, who made both of his free throws with eight seconds remaining, which was crucial in Arkansas’s victory. Once Notae made his free throws, LSU struggled to execute a play. Xavier Pinson received the inbound pass and drove to the paint to create a left-handed layup but failed to finish. Arkansas fans erupted in cheers, and coach Eric Musselman ran around the court to celebrate Arkansas’ tough victory.

Arkansas Success

The Razorbacks are now on an eight-game winning streak and are currently 25-6 this season. Stanley Umande was the Razorbacks’ leading scorer as he made 23 points, seven rebounds and five assists. The other most impactful scorers were Jaylin Williams and Au’Diese Toney. Williams made 19 points, and ten rebounds. Toney scored 18 points and had four rebounds. JD Notae is one of Arkansas’ most dominant players and is the second-leading scorer in the SEC. In this game, he did not put up his average amount of points, which is 19, and only made 12. However, he still proved to be a powerhouse player as he made crucial points, such as making the two free throws that resulted in the Arkansas win.

LSU Defensive Struggles

LSU put up many points but struggled defensively, which eventually led to the significant factor of why they could not continue to be in the lead. Tari Eason had a great game as he scored 24 points and seven rebounds. Darius Days made 19 points and six rebounds. Pinson put up 12 points and made five rebounds. Despite doing great offensively, their defensive is was caused them to fall short against Arkansas. LSU is now 20-11 in their season.
