Florida Golf: Spring Preview

Well after qualifying for the NCAA Championship in the summer of 2015 its the Florida Golf team who is gearing up for the spring of 2016. With all the success the team had last season Florida head coach JC Deacon says the team put in the work necessary in the offseason to be successful this year.

A very young team for Florida this season. Richard Donegan is the only remaining senior left on the squad, and alongside RS Jr. A.J. Crouch they are the two elder statesmen on the team. Crouch really made a turnaround last season capturing his first individual title since his freshman year. Crouch the Jacksonville native will hope to return with success when he heads to nearby Ponte Vedra Beach in the teams first match on February 1st.

Look out for Jorge Garcia this spring. Garcia competed in the Latin American Amateur Championship where he finished second, one stroke shy of earning a spot in the masters. JC Deacon is excited about how he is playing.

Look for the Gators to make a splash this season. They get going on February 1 at the Sea Best Invitational where 15 teams will be competing at Pete Dye’s TPC Sawgrass Valley Course.
