The Orlando Magic used a balanced scoring attack to defeat the Charlotte Hornets 113-98 at home Wednesday night.
Forward Channing Frye led the team with a season-high 17 points while shooting five of seven from beyond the arc. Frye’s stellar play is also helping create opportunities for the team around him. Magic guard Elfrid Payton says Frye’s accuracy draws opponents to him and scrambles the opposing defense.
That definitely showed last night, as all five Magic starters and two others put up double digits in points. Orlando is passing the ball more, and their 28 assists last night were a testament to that. Center Nikola Vucevic says it is more fun to share the ball.
The Magic have won eight of their last 11 games and will look to extend their winning streak to three when they host the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday night in the Amway Center.
