The Baltimore Ravens have had the franchise’s worst six-game start as they travel to Arizona with a 1-5 record. The Ravens are coming off a loss last week to the 49ers, and currently rank near the bottom of the NFL. Head coach John Harbaugh has reached the playoffs six times in his seven seasons with Baltimore but faces an uphill battle this year to get there.
“Every adversity that you walk through is the toughest one of your life when you’re in it…we know where we’re at, we know what we’ve got to overcome,” said Harbaugh.
Baltimore currently averages 23.8 points per game and ranks ninth in yards per game. On the other hand, Arizona is ranked second in the NFL and averages 33.8 points per game. However, the Cardinals are coming off a loss to the one team the Ravens beat so far this season, the Pittsburgh Steelers.
As both teams prepare for tonight’s game, two potential Hall of Famers, Arizona’s Larry Fitzgerald and Baltimore’s Steve Smith, will face off for the last time at the wide receiver position. Smith is fourth in the NFL with 102 receiving yards per game, while Fitzgerald is sixth with 97.2. Smith will retire at the end of this season.
According to ESPN’s Football Power Index, the Cardinal’s are favored to win by almost 80%. However, history shows the Ravens have an advantage in Monday Night Football, as they have won their last three Monday games. Kick off is set for 8:30 PM ET tonight.
