Savannah Jordan goes up for header in Gators 3-2 loss on Sunday afternoon. Gators fall to 8-3 and 2-2 in the SEC The Florida Gator soccer team fell to Auburn Sunday afternoon after a late goal gave the Tigers the 3-2 win. This is Florida’s second SEC loss of the season after falling to Texas A&M earlier this year. This concluded a three game road stretch for the Gators. After a scoreless first half, both offenses started clicking. The Gators were in a
hole early in the second half after the Tigers scored two goals in the first four minutes from Casie Ramsier and Kristen Dodson. Florida would respond with two goals of their own; Savannah Jordan scored the first goal on a penalty kick after freshman Mayra Pelayo was brought down in the box. Jordan would score again in the 72nd minute after she split the defense on a pass from Meggie Doughtery Howard. This was Jordan’s 14th career multi-goal match and her third of the season. She currently leads the Gators with 12 goals and 27 points this year. The game-winning goal for Auburn came with 25 seconds left after Casie Ramsier scored her second goal of the match off of a corner kick. The Gators fell to 8-3 on the year, while Auburn improved to 10-1. The Orange and Blue return home for their next match this Friday as they welcome Kentucky to James G Pressly stadium. Match time is set for 7 p.m.
