Miami Heat Late Season Woes Continues

Post LeBron James success for the Miami Heat has not been easy.

Losing the “best player in the world,” and numerous of others on the roster have turned contenders into a team unable to find success.  Also, injuries have severely handicapped the Heat roster. Miami could possibly be unable to get into the playoffs this late into the season.

The Heat is 34-43 this season, and is on a dismal run. Miami fell out of the playoff race, after losing four games in a row. Heat guard Dwyane Wade has been unable to lead his team out of a slump, with just five games left in the season. Wade has been solid this season averaging 21 points per game, but the rest of the team isn’t able to contribute enough.

The Heat shot an abysmal 10 percent from behind the arc in blowout loss to the Indiana Pacers on Sunday.  The Heat weren’t able to stop Indiana’s big guys in the paint in the 112-89 loss. Pacers guard Paul George even “got his” in his dramatic return to the hardwood from injury, finishing with 13 points.

Last week Miami was sitting on the seventh seed and were posed to face the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round of the playoffs. However, this week the Heat hold the 10th seed in the Eastern Conference. Miami could slip back in the playoff picture if it wins out big but they will need help.

The Heat’s next game is against the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday. After that game the Heat will face off against Toronto and then Chicago. These next games will determine whether the Heat goes to the playoffs or get in line for a high draft pick.
