Florida Baseball To Face Kentucky In SEC Tournament

Eight teams kicked off the SEC Tournament on Tuesday, two of which were competing for a chance to face SEC Champion Florida Wednesday afternoon.

The Kentucky Wildcats earned that spot, defeating Alabama, 7-1 Tuesday in Hoover.

This won’t be the first time Florida faces Kentucky this season. The Wildcats took two out of three in April when they hosted the Gators. However, the Gators are 21-9 in SEC play, while the Wildcats are only 14-16.

Most believe no matter what Florida does in the SEC Tournament that the Gators have done enough by winning the SEC regular season title with the second best RPI in the country to host a regional and be a top eight national seed.

The last time these opponents met in the SEC Tournament was in 2000 when UF defeated UK, 8-7.

You can hear the game live on ESPN 850 WRUF starting at 5:25 pm.
