The playoffs are starting to heat up for the Miami Heat. The two time defensing champs are now 2-0 against the Charlotte Bobcats after a close win on Wednesday night. Despite a 10-0 run for the Bobcats in the fourth quarter, Miami power forward Chris Bosh managed to throw up a 3-pointer to put a stop to the Bobcat offense. A steal by Miami’s shooting guard Dwyane Wade followed by a free throw is what sealed the deal for the Heat with a final score of 101-97.
Wade says that the Bobcats don’t give up no matter what the score.
“They are a scrappy team, you know every time we play them. It’s the playoffs, teams aren’t giving up. It’s not like the regular season where you go up twenty and pack it in. They are going to continue to keep coming at us, and it’s good, it’s a great challenge for us. They keep us in it and see how we respond.”
The Heat knows what they need to do in order to be successful in this series. Bosh says that his team needs to do a better job of not giving up double digit leads like they have the past two games.
“We’re going to have to do a better job of not giving up those double digit leads. We can’t do that come Saturday, we’ve got to play a complete game. They’re going to be ready for us. They’re going to be reenergized in front of their home crowd, it will be a good test for us.”
The Bobcats are looking forward to playing on their home court this Saturday after contending in the Heat’s territory the first two playoff games. Bobcats guard Kemba Walker say his team is still confident despite trailing 2-0 in this best out of seven series.
“I think we’re still really confident, we just have to learn from our mistakes. Our coaches do a great job at getting us prepared to play in these games, and getting us prepared to win these games.”
Game 3 begins at 7pm on Saturday night at the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte. You can watch all the live coverage on ESPN.
