The sixth ranked Florida softball team got just one hit on the night, but it was enought to beat the USF Bulls 1-0 at home on Wednesday night.
Strong pitching
The Gators and Bulls combined for just two hits on the night showcasing a strong day from both pitchers. In fact, Florida didn’t record a hit until the bottom of the sixth inning.
Kelly Barnhill was yet again spectacular pitching a complete game shutout for the Gators. She walked just two batters and gave up one hit on the day. Barnhill totaled 11 strikeouts in the game and leads all power conference pitchers in strikeouts.

The winning run
Tim Walton’s club was quiet with the bats which was especially surprising as the Gators beat USF 7-1 earlier in the season. Florida was being no-hit until Cheyenne Lindsey took over in the sixth.
Lindsey would reach on a single and would later advance to third where Sophia Reynoso would produce the lone run in the game with a sacrifice fly, scoring Lindsey.
