Michigan State has been in headlines lately with the fallout of Larry Nassar. Both Outside the Lines and Michigan’s attorney general are looking into the role of Michigan State in the recent scandal. But now that Nassar has gone to jail, this situation has brought other names to light. One of those name is Coach Tom Izzo, head coach of the Michigan State basketball team. Recently, Coach Izzo commented on cooperating after Outside The Lines investigated into the basketball program.

A closer look into Michigan State’s history has shown other incidents involving basketball and football programs. According to Outside the Lines, they have found information that now reaches the football and basketball department. Tom Izzo and Michigan State Athletic Department has now been put in the hot seat.
Izzo’s Comments
The Spartans started the week by making the headlines for two reasons. Despite the investigation into the basketball department, the Spartans also won their fourth game in a row with a 74 to 68 victory over the Maryland Terrapins. After the game, Izzo addressed the issue concerning his basketball program and the MSU community.

Coach Izzo said that in light of the this investigation it’s important for the whole Michigan State community to come together.
In a recent article, Izzo talked about how he wanted to celebrate his team’s recent win but that he will continue to cooperate with the investigation going forward.
