Big 12/SEC Challenge: Texas A&M At No. 5 Kansas

As this weekend approaches, several men’s college basketball teams are preparing for the Big 12/SEC Challenge. And on Saturday, the Texas A&M Aggies will face the Kansas Jayhawks in Lawrence.

Texas A&M’s Season

Currently, the Aggies are 13-7 overall, 2-6 in SEC play and 1-4 on the road, which could prove to be another challenge for this weekend’s matchup.

There’s no denying the Aggies have been struggling as of late with only two wins in their last eight games. They also rank 13th in the SEC.

Their latest loss came on Tuesday night when they fell 77-65 to the LSU Tigers on the road. Head coach Billy Kennedy reflected on his team’s performance in this game and shared his thoughts ahead of tomorrow’s game. “We really need to focus on getting better,” Kennedy said.

Also, the last time the Aggies earned a road win was against University of Southern California (75-59) on November 26.

Kansas’ Season

In opposition to their Saturday afternoon opponent, the Jayhawks rank first in their conference and currently have a record of 16-4. They are 6-2 in conference and 9-3 at home.

Like the Aggies though, the Jayhawks are coming off a loss as well. On Tuesday night they snapped their five-game win streak when they lost 85-80 on the road to No. 12 Oklahoma.

Looking Ahead

Many are predicting Kansas might walk away with the win in Saturday afternoon’s matchup, but maybe we will see the Aggies earn their second road win of the season.

Game time is set for 4:30 p.m. and will air on ESPN.
