Will Trae Young Continue to Shine in Tuscaloosa?

Trae Young seems to have righted the ship following a couple of lackluster performances that had critics wondering whether or not he was worthy of the hype he’s been receiving. He put up quite the performance against No. 5 Kansas in their 85-80 victory on Tuesday. A quick reminder about his latest line: 26 pts., 77.8 FG%, and nine assists. Young has 10 double-doubles this season. That’s tied for 15th in the country. Oklahoma also has two true road wins against top-10 teams in the country.

How can Alabama pull off the upset?

Avery Johnson’s bunch has been surprisingly better on the road than at home. They have seven losses this season, two of which have been non-conference home games. Collin Sexton needs to show up offensively for Alabama to have a chance. He returned January 23 from an abdominal injury he’s been nursing.

Alabama’s next best shot is the pure schematical advantage that Avery Johnson can provide a team. He’s 50-37, over his three seasons at Alabama.

The Crimson Tide are doing their best to pack the house.

Oklahoma Keys to Success

Trae Young makes the Oklahoma offense flow beautifully, but the mind of head coach Lon Kruger and Young’s supporting cast has certainly helped. Oklahoma is averaging 91.2 PPG in 19 games. That’s good for second in the country trailing only Duke. It’ll also be key for Oklahoma to ride the emotional momentum they gained via the win over Kansas.
