2013 Orange and Blue Debut Preview

The Florida Gators have 11 scholarship players on the offensive line. Five of those are injured.

The injuries have left Gators coach Will Muschamp no choice but to alter the annual spring game on Saturday.

Muschamp announced Tuesday that due to the lack of healthy offensive linemen, the “game” will run like a practice.

The team would usually take 100 snaps in the game, but today, the team will only take around 40.

They will mix in situational scrimmage 11-on-11 snaps over four periods, and in between that, the team will work on individual and team drills.

Even though the game was altered, former players like Rex Grossman, Mike Pearson and Larry “Moose” Morris will be in attendance. Muschamp talked about the comraderie of the weekend in Gainesville.

Even though the team won’t be battling against one another, Muschamp said the opportunity to play in The Swamp is beneficial to his team.

He added that for the freshmen, it’s especially important for them to play:

Defensive lineman Damien Jacobs says the fans should still enjoy the day even with the changes.

Due to the changes, the game is now free for the public.

Gators out for spring:

Guard Trip Thurman out 4-5 months with a torn labrum

Offensive lineman Chaz Green, recovering from ankle surgery

Offensive lineman Ian Silberman, recovering from shoulder surgery

Offensive lineman Jessamen Dunker, suspended
