The Missouri Tigers have been struggling this season up until last Saturday. After losing five games in a row, the Tigers earned their first W against Idaho. They now prepare to take on UConn in this week’s match-up.

Missouri Tigers
This season, Missouri might be losing but Tigers quarterback Drew Lock has thrown for 2,190 yards and 23 touchdowns with just eight picks this season. However, a team needs more than just a good quarterback.
Missouri has a very young team, which includes 11 freshmen and redshirt sophomores on offense and 10 on defense.
Tigers’ head coach Barry Odom says they’re trying to work through the challenges of having such a young team.
Not only does Odom have a developing team, but running back Damarea Crockett had shoulder surgery and will most likely be out for the season. Odom says Crockett is working hard at recovering but will probably not return this season.
Other than missing Crockett, Odom says his team is in a healthy position for this weekend’s match-up against UConn. However, the Tigers know how tough of a game this will be and even Odom says it will be a difficult one.
Connecticut Huskies
UConn is also coming off a win, topping Tulsa 20-14 last weekend and improving to 3-4 overall. UConn quarterback Bryant Shirreffs threw for 372 yards last week for his fourth 300-yard game in the last five outings.
With the Missouri Tigers’ young defense, the Connecticut Huskies might have a chance to get a win this week, too.
Again, Missouri head coach Barry Odom says how his team is still growing both defensively and offensively and is preparing for the challenging game against UConn.
Up Next
Next week, the Missouri Tigers will host the University of Florida. Meanwhile, the Connecticut Huskies will take on University of South Florida at home. Missouri’s game will start at noon and UConn’s game will start at 3:30.
