Left tackle David Sharpe made the decision to forgo his senior year after the Outback bowl in January as he declared for the NFL Draft. Currently, he just got back from California, where he was touring a facility. The work has just begun for Sharpe in terms of touring facilities but regardless, he is excited for this opportunity.
The Decision
Before he entered the NFL Draft, he talked it over with his parents and coaches. On January 3rd, he announced that he was going to enter the draft via Twitter. According to Fox Sports, Sharpe is considered as one of the top 10 offensive tackles in this NFL Draft class.

Sharpe on the Future of the Gators
Even though he won’t be wearing the Gator colors, Sharpe is hopeful for the Gators. This season they ended the season with an overall record of 9 and 4. With Sharpe gone, Martez Ivey will be taking over his position. Sharpe is hopeful for the Gators this upcoming season. Even though he is going to miss being apart of the Gator Nation, he thinks that Martez Ivey and the rest of the team will be great in this upcoming season.

Experience as a Gator
Sharpe feels that his experience as a Gator has prepared him for the NFL. During his time as a Gator he had a lot of experience by playing in the swamp with his teammates. Over the course of his college career he improved and eventually as a junior, Sharpe started in all games in the 2016-2017 season. Overall, he loved his time as a Gator and enjoyed playing alongside his teammates.

With the NFL Draft around the corner, Sharpe is optimistic about his future in the NFL. Now that he is ready for this next step, he’ll just have to wait to see what happens.
